To end off the week before Easter Break, we had a character day, where we could dress up as a character from a book, t.v. show or movie. We had a lot of fun today and the students were very excited to talk about their characters!
We have been learning about Elements of Design in Art. So far, we have studied line and colour. Now we were talking about shape - both geometric and organic. Here are some of the beautiful side by side geometric and organic art pieces the students created this week. We have been experimenting with 3D solids for the past week. Next week, I will be asking the students to bring in items from home in the shape of 3D solids so we can examine different solids we see around us everyday. Warm up question of the day: If you were given 20 counters, how many counters could you use to make a filled in triangle? Could you use a different number of counters to make a different triangle? "I could use 3 counters or 6 counters or 10 counters or 15 counters. If I tried to make the next size triangle I would need 21 and I only have 20 counters."
